The 2008 Nitro's fold-flat first-row passenger seat and second-row seats offer a variety of loading options. The Load 'N Go cargo floor slides 18 inches rearward for easy loading and unloading and holds up to 400 pounds of cargo items.
For 2008, the Dodge Nitro adds a Trailer Sway Control System and ParkSense Rear Park Assist System to its long list of safety and security features. Brilliant Black, Light Graystone and Modern Blue are new exterior color options for the 2008 model year. Optional heated leather seats, MyGIG Multimedia Infotainment System, cutting-edge entertainment system options, plus a lengthy list of standard safety and security features enhance the appeal of the Dodge Nitro sport utility vehicle.
The performance-oriented, 4.0-liter, single-overhead-cam V-6 in the Nitro R/T provides 260 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 265 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,200 rpm. It is an enhanced version of the 3.5-liter engine used in prior Chrysler Group vehicles. The 3.7-liter V-6 produces 210 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 235 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm.
